A Sneakerhead Destination at Nike Kicks Lounge @ Footaction

The Nike Candy Store for Sneakerheads.

Nike developed a successful Nike Kicks Lounge sneaker store in APAC (Asia Pacific and China) that was very successful. As a result, the North America team set out to extend the concept locally and partner with FootAction to be an adjacent store mirroring its Flight 23 Jordan-only retail concept stores.

I set out to take the learnings from APAC and interpret the design for The North American consumer. Originally the concept was to be mainly footwear as in APAC, but last minute, we had to adjust the idea to be primarily apparel per leadership direction.

Good challenges as we adapted in the previous final hours to transform the concept to more dress centric with concentrations on footwear collections. We approached a candy store for sneakerhead collectors that can pick from merchandised footwear selections of roshe, air, or dunk and a few highly collected footwear product selections.

I developed new fixture development, environmental graphics, product storytelling, materials, lighting and finishes, space planning, signage, and overall retail concept rendering and design with the various merchandising and creative teams to generate planning and internal approvals.

Environmental graphics from a local gym, reconfiguration of footwear wall, and product storytelling.

The threshold from Footaction space to Kicks lounge and focus on footwear wall offerings.

Maximising Footwear launch and apparel storytelling.
