Macy’s Nike Training Club Rollout.

One of Nike's key focus at the time was to expand the Women's offering. I had already worked on concepts for elevating Nike women's with Lady Footlocker and Six:02 stores. Still, the timing was right to partner with Macy's to create an elevated Nike Women Training Club concept to roll out at key Macy's stores.

The Nike women's category had built an inspiring Nike Women's studio in Lincoln Park, Chicago, and asked to take the learning and look towards rolling out the concept for Nike. The idea was inspiring as the women's category put much effort into narrowing the consumer needs and finding ways to elevate and share the product offerings.

The challenge here for me was to value engineer and create a fixture of product storytelling that could roll out across channels while keeping true to the experience intended and so thought thru by the team.

The first design for Macy's was for Macy's Dadeland Miami Mall, which had its unique challenges of low ceilings and other building constraints. Not ideal for a prototype location, but the community was prime for building a Nike Women's community full of events in-store and in the city.

My talented team and I worked hard at developing a new flexible, value-engineered fixture program while working with the NA Women's category team to ensure we could maximize fixture blocking for storytelling, elevating product stories and fitting room experiences that could roll out and be consistent amongst the Macy's fleet of stores.

The prototype at Dadeland was successful and led to the success of many future Nike Training Club stores throughout North America.
